As our name implies, Embody Hot Yoga’s classes take place in a heated room that is set to 85-95℉, unless otherwise specified. Note that the actual temperature of the room will greatly depend on the outside weather.

We offer essential oil scented cold compresses at the end of class that can be placed on your forehead during savasana

Embody offers various pop-up classes, such as Yin yoga or True Restorative yoga, on a bi-weekly basis. These classes are warm, not hot, and will tend to hold yoga postures for longer periods of time, often with the support of props. About Us

Niki Erdner (Owner and Co-founder)

Niki found yoga as a movement modality in 2010. She practiced on and off again until 2013, when her practice deepened, and it became much more than just a work-out and transitioned into a way of life. Niki traveled to India for the month of September of 2019 to pursue her 200 hour teacher training at the Rishikesh Vinyasa Yoga School. She returned home and immediately became a practicing instructor. Niki is both a dedicated student and teacher, and continues to educate herself in all things related to yoga. She recently finished her 300 hour teacher training with Authentic Movements, which placed an emphasis on arm balances and inversions.

Niki’s regularly scheduled classes are Sundays at 10, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 am.

Lindsay Namuth (Owner and Co-founder)

Lindsay originally began practicing yoga to help ease her anxiety. Once getting deeper into her practice, she realized that yoga was a lifestyle she was drawn to, that naturally alleviated the anxiety she was once facing. Lindsay traveled to Costa Rica to pursue her 200 hour teacher training at Nexus Institute of Yoga & Wellness. Upon returning home, Lindsay immediately began teaching and continued to learn other styles of yoga, while traveling. Lindsay is a lifelong student of yoga, and hopes to pursue her 300 hour training in India in the near future.

Lindsay’s regularly scheduled classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm, Saturdays at 9:00 am.

Jen S. (Instructor)

Jen is a classically trained yoga teacher whose personal mission is to bring meaningful yoga to as many people as possible. She has completed trainings in Transcend Aerial Yoga, Principle-Based Partner Yoga®, Yin Yoga, and LoveYourBrain® (yoga for TBI survivors.) Her educational background includes a B.S. from Kent State and a Master’s from CMU.

Jen has studied and practiced yoga for over 20 years. She is grateful to her yogic influences – Sandra Anderson, Dharma Mittra, David Swenson, Seane Corn, Sarah Powers, and Judith Hanson Lasater – for their wisdom and guidance. She has taught yoga and other mind/body topics at many local studios, corporate offices, gyms, parks, YMCAs, and university settings all over the greater Pittsburgh area. She loves to take bring yoga to unusual places.

Jen is also the co-founder of NamastHay Goat Yoga of Pittsburgh©, the area’s first and biggest goat yoga enterprise. When she’s not practicing or teaching, Jen enjoys distance cycling, hiking, paddleboarding and supporting local humane causes.

Catch Jen on the mat on Mondays at 6:00 pm.

Sam L. (Instructor)

Sam has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 10 years. Understanding the symbiotic relationship between the mind and body drove her to begin her path as a Coach and Teacher. She currently runs her independent business, Samantha Ellen  Wellness, as a private Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, Nutrition Coach, and Group Exercise Instructor. She is registered with Yoga Alliance and teaches individual/group yoga and fitness classes around the Greater Pittsburgh area. Sam strives to create an environment that is empowering, safe, and limitless. She believes the body benefits from movement, the mind benefits from stillness and works to create a balance between the two. Sam’s goal is to motivate her students to invest in themselves by encouraging them to experience everything from the 8 limbs of yoga to strength/resistance training; because she believes our bodies need it all!

Catch Sam on the mat on Tuesdays at 9:30 am.

Torre E. (Instructor)

Torre started her yoga journey in 2012 with not much of an understanding of what yoga truly was. At first Torre was just looking for a new way to occupy her time. It didn’t take long for it to become something so much more than that. After understanding how we can hold feelings, emotions, and tensions in the body, Torre began to incorporate yoga into her daily life. Not only did she do this for herself and personal wellbeing, but she has also incorporated it into her work, proving just how accessible and adaptable yoga can actually be. Torre works in mental health, and loves being able to to help teach the tolls needed for self-regulation, as well as the understanding and ability to bring awareness in the breath and body. Torre also loves providing the space to let you explore your boundaries in a challenging and physical way.

Catch Torre on the mat on Thursdays at 9:30 am.

Hannah D. (Instructor)

Hannah has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. She started practicing to help with my anxiety and build a better mind/body relationship with herself. The mind/body relationship is something she is a huge believer in. Hannah has devoted her personal and professional life to better understanding how our brains and bodies work together to create this complex being that is ourselves. Hannah’s teaching style is very reflective of this and she tries to bring breath work and awareness to each of her classes through intention setting and flow. She believes that everyone can grow and learn about themselves on a deeper level through yoga and she is so honored to be a part of your journey!

Catch Hannah on the mat on Sundays at 4:30 pm.

Jaymie F. (Instructor)

Jaymie first came to yoga as a dancer to improve strength and flexibility. When she was no longer dancing regularly, she started doing yoga on its own as a way to stay connected to her body. She fell in love with the physical benefits first, and then the mental and emotional benefits that followed!

In October of 2022, she officially became a 200 hour certified yoga teacher (RYT). She has been teaching yoga ever since, while also remaining devoted to her own personal practice. Jaymie’s goal is to provide a safe space for her students to practice being fully present and connected to their minds and bodies on the mat, so they can take what they learn with them off the mat into their daily lives.

Catch Jaymie on the mat on Fridays at 7:00 am.

Nicole L-S. (Instructor)

Dancing, tumbling or cheerleading in some capacity since the first grade, yoga seemed like a natural fit for Nicole when slowly returning to physical activity after tearing her ACL. Initially a low impact way to move her body, yoga has grown to fill up more and more space in her life over the years. Having personally experienced the physical and mental benefits of the practice, Nicole feels honored to share yoga with others and guide her students on their mats.

In Nicole’s classes you can expect an engaging blend of movement and stillness. Incorporating her dance moves as funky transitions and flows, Nicole’s classes will keep you on your toes (perhaps literally and figuratively). Because music is deeply ingrained in her appreciation for movement, she hopes her fine tuned musicality will make you love practicing to her playlists as much as she does.

When she’s not on her mat, you can find Nicole baking, cooking, cuddling her cats, teaching undergraduate political science courses, finishing her doctoral dissertation, or spending time with her husband, Johnny.

Catch Nicole on the mat on Wednesdays at 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

Emily G. (Instructor)

After Emily graduated from college, she was unemployed, and frankly, so unmotivated. Despite the low place she was in, she found it in her to go to a hot yoga class at a studio nearby her apartment every single day. Week by week, she noticed herself getting stronger, and craving the satisfaction of staying committed to something good for her body and mind. Emily fell in love with who she was on her mat, and soon, she started to take that energy off the mat with her, too. A few years, a job, and a lot of growth later, Emily earned her first 200 hour instructor certification and started teaching weekly classes. Yoga has been one of the biggest pillars of support and transformation in Emily’s life. Helping as many people as she can to feel good in their bodies and in control of their minds is the best way she’s found to pay it all forward.

Emily has taken over the Saturday 9:00 am class!

We ask that you leave your shoes and cell phones outside of the studio. Cubbies are provided for you to store your belongings during class. If you have any physical limitations or injuries, feel free to let the instructor know before class!

Props, such as blocks, straps, and blankets are available for you to use. Please clean up after yourself with the provided prop spray.

Please avoid applying strong perfumes or scented lotions prior to class. Wear comfortable athletic style clothing, and be prepared to sweat!

Embody Hot Yoga reserves the right to cancel class if only one person is signed up. Your class session would be refunded if the studio needs to cancel.

How hot is the room?

As our name implies, Embody Hot Yoga’s classes take place in a heated room that is set to 85-95℉, unless otherwise specified. Note that the actual temperature of the room will greatly depend on the outside weather, with summer times being more humid in the studio. Be prepared to sweat!

Essential oil scented cold compresses are offered at the end of each heated class for your savasana.

Do I need to sign up for class in advance, and how do I do so?

Yes, we ask that you please sign up prior to class, as there is a maximum capacity of 17 students per class. Please also see below for our cancellation policy.

You can sign up for class several ways! First you can reserve your spot through our website, by clicking “reserve” next to the class you would like to attend!

I’m new to yoga. Is there a class specifically for beginners?

At Embody Hot Yoga, all of our classes are created with all levels of yoga students in mind, and in any given class, you’ll have a mix of all different types of students at various stages in life! The instructors are great at offering different variations for all levels. We do not offer a class designed for a specifically beginner level at this time (unless it’s a specified workshop or event).

Do you have a first time special for new students?

Embody Hot Yoga has an amazing intro offer for new students, where for just $30, you can come to the studio 30 days unlimited! This allows you to try various class times and instructors and see what is the best fit for you without having to make a huge financial commitment.

What is vinyasa style? Do you offer any other types of yoga?

Vinyasa is a popular type of yoga that incorporates regulated breath with movement between poses. While the basic structure of our classes will be similar to one another, there is a great deal of variation between classes and instructors, so you’ll always have something different to look forward to each class. Cold, essential oil compresses are offered at the end of heated vinyasa classes.

Embody Hot Yoga does also offer different styles of yoga, such as Yin and Restorative. The studio temperature for these slow-flow pop ups are warm, not hot. Also be sure to check out the various special events that Embody Hot Yoga offers!

Where should I park?

There is a parking lot that has designated spots for students behind the studio on the right side of Hickman Street. Note that some spots are reserved for other businesses. This parking is on a first come, first serve basis. There is also an additional paid parking lot across Washington Avenue, behind LaBella Bean. Street parking is available for a small fee Monday-Saturday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can use the meters to pay or download the parking app to pay via phone.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

Instructors will leave the door unlocked for 5 minutes before class, but we ask that you please reach out to the studio if you are running late so that the instructor knows you intend on coming. If you no-show, the cancellation policy may be applied to your account.

Plan on staying for the entire class. Savasana is an important part of any yoga class, and leaving early can disrupt your fellow yogis. If you do need to leave early for whatever reason, please inform the instructor and set up your mat somewhere near the doorway.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your reservation up to two hours before a class is scheduled to start, or the cancellation is considered “late”. Embody Hot Yoga reserves the right to enforce a late cancellation or no-show fee. A $5 fee will be charged for late cancellations and no-shows for clients that have an unlimited membership. For clients that have class passes or are using a drop in, the session will be lost.
